When you take out insurance, we gather personal information about you. This is to enable us to decide whether to insure you and on what terms. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.

The law of insurance requires you to disclose this information. If you fail to do so, we can decline to insure you or avoid the policy from the beginning.

We hold the information, and you have rights of access to and correction of it. The information may be passed on to other insurers you subsequently deal with. Any claims related to personal information will be passed on to Insurance Claims Register Limited who will hold it. This enables other insurers to access it and to prevent undisclosed or fraudulent claims.
